Wez Tully Interview

Wez Tully is a professional MMA fighter from Redditch, England. A highly decorated amateur training out of Team Renegade, he will make his professional debut on Friday, June 27, 2025. Tully has spent the past few months training intensely at the UFC Performance Institute in Shanghai, China, where he has been preparing to face Aize. This highly anticipated debut will take place on a massive stage. A fight you do not want to miss.

Interview:

1. How did the training camp in China come about?

“My coach Nathan Epps is the assistant striking coach here at the pi so I got invited through Nath”

2. How has it been training at the UFC Performance Institute?

“It's been unreal training at the Pi, a dream come true almost, 6 days a week, training 2/3 times a day around like-minded pros. I've made some serious progress and plan on making more.”

3. I’ve seen some impressive pictures on your Instagram of their equipment. How has the equipment affected your training?

“Training is training. I've trained in huts in Thailand to this 13 million dollar facility, and it’s always down to coaching and training partners.”

4. Is there much difference in preparation for a five-minute round compared to a three-minute round?

“I've always trained 5-minute rounds since I was 13 years old, and I've fought 5x3-minute rounds 3 times, so 15 minutes is nothing new.”

5. What part of the professional rule set are you most excited to use?

“I'm excited to use all my skills, I've been doing this sport for over 10 years and it’s finally time to put on the 4s and go to work.”

6. You’ve had numerous opponents pull out during your amateur career, and a few now as a pro. Is it demotivating to have so many cancellations, and does it affect your training, knowing you may not make it to fight night?

“No, pull out after pull out in the UK just shows I'm doing something right.”

7. What’s it like training at a gym like Team Renegade? With so many pros who have great careers, does that motivate you?

“Ye team renegade turned into home once Nathan had come here. Looking forward to traiming with the boys when im home.”

8. What is the strangest or best meal you’ve had in China?

“The food's pretty good here; they have chefs who make everything fresh, so it's 10/10.”

9. Finally, how do you see the fight going next Friday?

   “Knockout.”

Wez appears eager for his professional debut and is undoubtedly well-prepared to impress. Good luck to Wez in his bout!
