UFC: Fiorot vs Blanchfield Post Fight Matchmaking

Aaron McNally

Fiorot

Following a rather bizarre card, we will take a look at potential matchups for those that fought on the main card.

Manon Fiorot – After a pretty solid 50-45 win over a strong threat in Erin Blanchfield, it’s only fair that Fiorot gets the Title shot versus Alexa Grasso next. The French woman is currently riding an impressive 11 fight win streak with 6 of them wins via KO/TKO.

Erin Blanchfield – It seemed like Blanchfield was a win away from herself gaining a title shot, but falling short on Saturday, she needs to build her self back up in to the win column. I honestly wouldn’t be mad to run back her first loss of her career versus Tracy Cortez at the Las Vegas Sphere on Mexican Independence day.

Joaquin Buckley – With the biggest win of his career and now finally ranked, the sky seems to be the limit for Buckley, finding a new home at 170lb’s. I think the perfect most violent matchup for him would be Geoff Neal.

Vicente Luque – now ranked at 15 in the welterweigjt division, its only fair that Vicente has to defend that ranking again, and I think Rinat Fakhretdinov makes total sense.

Chris Weidman – after winning in a way that majority of the MMA fanbase were upset about regarding that he is a legend of the sport, this decision was wrong and should of ended in a No-Contest. Therefore, I would like to see him rematch Bruno Silva.

Bruno Silva – after receiving 4 eyepokes in the entire fight, Silva went down on the 4th eyepoke, potentially showing to the referee to deduct a point off Weidman. I don’t think it was fair on him one bit, so I would run it back with Weidman.

Nursulton Ruziboev – Again, another win via an eyepoke, although he looked very crisp with his striking considering he is a wrestler. I would give him an established opponent considering he has a total of 46 professional fights, I would like to see him up against Brad Tavares.

Sedriques Dumas – coming into this fight with another police report against his name, we need to see Sedriques active so he can avoid trouble on the outside world. An unlucky loss and maybe they will run it back but I would like to see him versus CLD – Christian Leroy Duncan.

Kyle Nelson – following a standing TKO win over Bill Algeo, Nelson seemed to have not of got a scratch on him, I would like to see him return in a couple of months versus Andre Fili.

Bill Algeo – If there was any fighter to survive that barrage of damage Nelson was doing, it was Bill Algeo, I would of liked to see more damage to stop the fight. He will bounce back from this and id like to see him come up against Charles Jourdain.

Chidi Njoukuani – with a big win over Rhys McKee which the loser of the bout was almost certain to lose their UFC contract and get cut, Chidi got the job done. I’m not certain if he will stay at 170 or move back up to 185, but we will see. I would put up against Bryan Battle.

Rhys McKee – The Irishman just cant seem to find his feet in the big leagues, with a UFC record of 0-4 I just can’t see him having another fight with the promotion. I think he either goes back to Cage Warriors or signs with the newly merged PFL/Bellator promotion.
